A Throwback Hip-Hop and R&B Party


What began in 2015 as BEFORE SERATO has now evolved into FLAVA.

FLAVA is a monthly throwback Hip-Hop and R&B party based in Atlanta, GA.  The Sparks Brothers have utilized their relationships and expertise to grow FLAVA into an event that has been able to attract multiple GRAMMY award winners, platinum selling producers, national recording artists and award winning DJs. Past guest DJs include: 9th Wonder (Jamla/Roc Nation), Bryan-Michael Cox (So So Def), Ray Murray (Organized Noize), and Mr. Collipark (Collipark Music). Notable guests include: Jermaine Dupri, Big Boi of OutKast, Young Guru, Mannie Fresh, Big K.R.I.T, David Banner, Camp Lo, Digable Planets and reality television stars Arianne Davis and Mimi Faust of Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta.



Nick Dean, also known as Nick The Quick, was born and raised in Atlanta, GA. He showed a love and talent for music at a very young age. His musical journey began in the elementary school band where he played the saxophone. His love for music continued to grow and he was certain he wanted to pursue a career in music. In 2007, Nick entered Morehouse College and started DJing house parties for his classmates as well as numerous events within the Atlanta University Center. While a student, he joined WATIA Music, a record label founded by his fellow classmates who obtained likeminded musical interests.  In 2009, Nick was offered an opportunity to become a DJ and radio personality for an internet radio station that was started by his future mentor, DJ Battle. Nick soon became known as a reputable DJ and music producer in Atlanta.  In 2016, Nick became the founder and CEO of Quick Sound Entertainment, LLC. The company was founded to provide a platform to create unforgettable events and experiences through the art of music.

WALLY SPARKS (Resident DJ / Co-Founder)

Tennessee native, Atlanta based, Wally Sparks is a veteran DJ with over 20 years experience in the entertainment industry. Having toured the world with former Def Jam Records recording artist Big K.R.I.T. as tour DJ, music director and A&R,  Wally Sparks has been seen performing on national television platforms such as Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Conan, Fuse TV, BET’s 106 & Park and others. Wally Sparks has performed at major festivals including SXSW, Bonaroo, ONE Musicfest, A3C, Splash! (Germany), Royal Arena (Switzerland) and more. Wally Sparks has developed a strong client base with major brands providing DJ services for companies such as adidas Originals, Coca-Cola, Microsoft, Aloft Hotels, and Intel. Lifestyle brands such as Jack Daniels, Red Bull, Miller-Coors, Cornerstone Promotion, The Loud Speakers Network, NiceKicks.com and others have also utilized Wally Sparks unique talent. Wally Sparks has over 10 years of radio experience providing DJ work for stations such as Hip Hop Nation (Sirius XM), WJTT, WBFA, WRVZ, and WKPO. “Different events have different circumstances” says Wally. “The key to connecting to your audience is to tap into their emotions in a visceral way. When people come to the parties that I deejay my goal is to have the entire room sing a song they may not have heard in a long time out loud in unison. That’s a sure sign of a good night.

CORY SPARKS (Co-Founder)

For over a decade Cory Sparks has been a well-respected name among media and entertainment influencers. Having held positions at Interscope Records, eOne Entertainment and currently at Epic Records. During the restructuring of Epic Records with current CEO Antonio “L.A.” Reid at the helm Cory earned the coveted position of Urban Promotions Director making him an emerging leader to watch in the urban promotions and marketing space.
